How to Find the PS5 in Stock Now is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.
Finding Sony’s PS5 in stock is difficult. This guide will help you get one, hopefully without paying inflated prices. It will also show you where to check for PS5 stock and how to get notified when stock is available at a retailer so you can order a console quickly.
Sony’s PS5 Digital Edition costs $399.99 while the standard disc version retails for $499.99. Both versions are hard to find right now and it will take some patience if you haven’t managed to track one down yet.
Unfortunately, stock shortages continue to plague the console. At one point Sony said the situation would improve every month, but consumers will have to wait longer for PS5 stock issues to truly recover. In fact, the chip shortage impacting devices like the PS5 could stretch well into 2022 and, perhaps into 2023 or even 2024.
Back in November, Bloomberg said Sony’s “reduced its PlayStation 5 production outlook for this fiscal year due to component and logistics constraints” and that it will be even harder to find a PS5 as shortages and logistic issues continue to plague the company. The Biden administration also believes the chip shortage will stretch into the second half of 2022.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger recently told CNBC the chip shortage could last until 2024. Initially the company believed the shortages would end in 2023.
In a financial presentation, Sony believes PS5 stock will start to recover over the next year and then finally surpass the PS4’s selling speed in 2024.
The company is currently forecasting improved PS5 sales during this fiscal year which means we could see some improvements in the short-term.
So, for the time being, you can expect PS5 stock to remain in a constant state of flux in the months, and perhaps even years, ahead.
Where to Find the PS5 in Stock Now
The PS5 is sold directly at several stores though many of them are sold out. You can, however, buy it right now on resale sites like eBay if you’re willing to pay a premium for the console.
Here’s a rundown of where you can check the PS5 stock manually. This is smart to do because it can give you an edge in some cases.
- Check Amazon PS5 Stock

- Go back to the PS5 NowInStock page.

You can get browser alerts, text alerts, or email alerts when the PS5 model you want is in stock. You can also see the history of when the PS5’s been in stock at specific retailers. You can use this to figure out when you should manually check or when you should expect an alert.
If you use social media, we also recommend following accounts like Wario64 and PS5 Stock Alerts for the latest news about PS5 stock.
How to Get a PS5 Right Now
If you don’t want to deal with manually tracking stock at retailers or waiting for orders to start back up when small amounts of stock trickle in, you can look for both PS5 models at resellers like eBay and Craigslist.
People are reselling both versions of the PS5 on eBay for well over their standard retail price. In some cases, we’ve seen the consoles listed at well over $1000. That’s obviously far from ideal, but it’s an option if you’re tired of waiting.
Be careful to read the listing before you buy as we’ve seen questionable listings. eBay is pretty good at closing them down, but you’ll still want to exercise caution.
