Nintendo Switch is now over 92 million units shipped worldwide

Nintendo shared its financial results for Q2 (ending Sep. 2021) in the fiscal year ending March 2022. One major milestone from these results is an update on Nintendo Switch sales, confirming that the Nintendo Switch is now at over 92 million units shipped worldwide. Nintendo Switch sales for the first half of the fiscal year are down 34% year-over-year, continuing the trend from the Q1 results.

Several Nintendo Switch games also reached new sales milestones, with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD now at over 3.6 million copies sold. Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons reached 38.74 million and 34.85 million copies sold, respectively. New Pokémon Snap sold over 2.19 million copies.

Nintendo reported sales of 642.2 billion yen for the first half of the fiscal year, or $5.69 billion. For the second quarter specifically, sales reached $2.75 billion.

Looking ahead to the next quarter, Nintendo will be reporting the launch of the Nintendo Switch OLED, as well as an additional first-party game in the form of Metroid Dread.
