Though Apple enthusiasts are fawning over Apple's 2021 MacBook Pro models, the now previous-gen 16-inch MacBook Pro is still an incredibly powerful computer and one of the best MacBooks you can buy — especially if you can fund a good deal on one.
If you need a big screen but don't want to pay top dollar for Apple's M1 Pro and M1 Max machines, this near-$500 discount on a fully-loaded 16-incher is worth considering. Down to $2,299.99, the 1TB machine is close to 20% off which takes it down to its lowest price ever.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro on sale today is from 2019 and features a gorgeous Retina display with True Tone, 1TB SSD, and 16GB RAM. It's powered by a ninth-generation 8-Core Intel Core i9 processor with AMD Radeon Pro 5500M graphics. It also has Apple's Touch Bar and Touch ID tech as well as four Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C ports.
Today's best 16-inch MacBook Pro deal
16-MacBook Pro (2019, 1TB) | $50 off
Apple's largest Intel MacBook Pro is seeing its biggest discount to date with $499 off the 1TB model. There's no guarantee this deal will be back for Black Friday as it won't be long before supplies of this machine run out.
Of course, the model on sale today is rocking an Intel processor which Apple is moving away from as it transitions to Apple silicon. If you want to get the latest 16-inch model from 2021 that utilizes Apple's M1 Pro or M1 Max chip you're looking at $2,500 and up, though a similarly configured machine to the one on sale at Amazon would cost considerably more than that.
With Apple going all-in on its own silicon, the 2021 models certainly provide a more future-proof choice but you'll have to pay the extra and wait for it to be delivered. At this point, you're potentially looking at 2022 delivery timeframes on the newest models and we're unlikely to see any Black Friday MacBook deals on it, so factor those things in when it comes to considering the 2019 model today.
