5 Reasons to Wait for the Galaxy Tab S8 & 4 Reasons Not To is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

With a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 release reportedly in the works, we want to take prospective buyers through the best reasons to wait for the rumored Galaxy Tab S8 and the best reasons to skip it and go with another device.

If you’re in the market for a new tablet you’ve got some excellent options. If you’re determined to stick with Android as your operating system, you’ll want to take a look at Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S6. Both of these devices are extremely capable and they’re much cheaper than they once were.

If you think you would be fine with a device outside of Samsung’s Galaxy family, you’ll want to investigate devices like Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7 and Amazon’s Fire HD 10.

And if you wouldn’t mind getting into Apple’s ecosystem, check out the company’s 2021 iPad Pros, 2020 iPad Pros, 2018 iPad Pros, iPad Air, iPad mini, and others from the company’s extensive iPad lineup.

If you’re on the hunt for a new tablet, but don’t necessarily need to upgrade right now, you should think about waiting for the next crop of devices.

We’ve heard that Apple’s working on a new iPad Air 5 and brand new iPad Pro models. And on the Android side of things we’ve heard Samsung’s working on a new Galaxy Tab S8 flagship. Rumors have been a bit scarce, but here’s what we know.

Galaxy Tab S8 Rumors

According to a leak out of Korea, Samsung is working on three versions of the Galaxy Tab S8. The devices are codenamed “Basquait” it seems. Another leak claims Samsung is working on a “new lineup” for the Galaxy Tab S8.

Leaker Ice Universe has revealed the model numbers for two Galaxy Tab S8 models. Thee Galaxy Tab S8+ is SM-X806x while the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is SM-X906x.

YouTube channel The Galox has released what it claims is early information about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. We’re unfamiliar with the source so take the leak with a grain of salt.

Samsung’s also listed a “Galaxy Tab S8 Enterprise Edition” on its website. It’s unclear if this is a typo or an accidental confirmation of an unannounced device. The device in question is listed as having a microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB of storage and a nano SIM card.

Evan Blass has also released Samsung’s 2021 product roadmap and it doesn’t mention the Galaxy Tab S8. Leaker Ice Universe says the device will debut next year alongside the Galaxy S22.

With a Galaxy Tab S8 release almost certainly in the works, those of you in the hunt for a new tablet have an important decision to make.

While some of you might want to hang around and wait for the Galaxy Tab S8, others are better off going with another Galaxy Tab or a tablet from another family of devices.

In this guide we’ll take you through some of the best reasons to wait for the Galaxy Tab S8 and the best reasons to buy something else.

Wait for a Huge Display

Wait for a Huge Display

If you want a tablet with a massive display, think about waiting for the Galaxy Tab S8.

According to the leak out of Korea, Samsung's Galaxy Tab S8 series will incorporate three screen sizes including one aimed at those who want a ton of real estate.

The low-end model will apparently have an 11-inch LTPS TFT display with a 120Hz refresh rate while the mid-range model will sport a 12.4-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

As for the "Ultra" model, it will reportedly have a giant 14.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will sport 2960 x 1848 resolution which is a 16:10 aspect ratio.

We've also heard the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra may use a new ultra-thin display technology dubbed Border Reduction Structure or “BRS."

According to a rumor on Naver, this "BRS technology will be partially applied to the dipple of the Tab S8 Ultra."

If you're interested in a 14-inch Galaxy Tab, think about waiting,
